The Pups Popped Off at this College Event

February was the month of romantic reminders, schoolwork ramp ups, and lukewarm winter days. It was not everybody’s favorite month. But in the midst of it all, like a shining light amidst the growing despair, one event brought joy back to a dreary month.

On Thursday, February 12th, 2026, OFF-LEASH hosted Puppies and Pop from 6-8pm. It was advertised as a midterm destressor and open to all Utah State University students. It centered around ten of OFF-LEASH’s most therapeutic patron dogs and invited the students to come pet, play, and love these pups for a night they wouldn’t forget. OFF-LEASH was also honored to host Sage the campus police dog and her handler, Officer Nebeker. We were happy to be her stage so she could steal the show like she does so well!!

The smiles on the students’ faces said it all! As most of the students who attended did not have their own dogs, they enjoyed this unique time to pet, cuddle, play with, and pamper the lucky dogs with OFF-LEASH’s signature pup cups. A couple of pups became the park favorites including: our senior 3-legged golden retriever and our feisty energetic weiner dog sporting a dress too cute to handle! There was no shortage of things to do as there were also dirty sodas to drink, Bluey to watch, and so many new friends to talk to! Throughout the event, it was overheard that the event was “awesome” and “so much fun!”

As OFF-LEASH’s mission includes the goal to immerse itself in the community, this event was a perfect start in creating a community of students that love dogs almost as much as we do. For those who love dogs but cannot keep or see them now, OFF-LEASH is now their safe space. Stay tuned in to our social media accounts, as we will be hosting more events like this in the future!
